Cars And Coffee

The last Cars and Coffee (CNC) event that I went to was this past December in Corona, CA. It's a smaller event at a smaller venue, but there's always a friendly and enthusiastic group that attends. During these events, I usually photograph five or six cars, but on this day I was focused on this lowered and widened (the kids would call it "stanced") Corvette C8. There were several distractions around the car making it hard to shoot it cleanly, so I shot around them and tried to capture the definitive parts of the car. I was happy with the perspectives I got, but when I started editing the pictures, it was evident that there wasn't much contrast between the car and its surroundings, which meant that I'd be trying a black-and-white edit to highlight shape and contrast. Three clicks into the first b&w edit and it was obvious that this is what the pictures needed, so I edited all of them this way. I was happy with the outcome and look forward to the next Corona Cars and Coffee event so that I can shoot some more cars.
